Royalties to the Larry Slattery Memorial Fund

When writing the book 'Last of the Kriegies' with the respective POWs, we agreed that the royalties from the book would go to the Larry Slattery Memorial Fund, named after Larry Slattery who was shot down the day after the Second World War was declared and became a prisoner. Larry was a talented violinist, and he went on to lead the Stalag Luft III camp orchestra. Ogilvie, Keith draws on Skeets' recollections and diary, regarding one of the most significant days during the battle, 7th September 1940, when the Luftwaffe targeted London direct. We have been working with the International Bomber Command Centre on plans for a book detailing their extraordinary project and its relation to the story of Bomber Command. The book is titled ‘Our Story – Your History. The International Bomber Command Centre’ and attached to this post is the cover. The aim is to publish the book at the end of November 2017. Fundraising for a John Gillespie Magee Memorial

We have received some excellent news from Roger Cole who has launched the appeal to fund a long over due memorial to John Gillespie Magee, who wrote the famous 'High Flight' Poem. Roger wrote the definitive book on John Magee's life called 'High Flight' and he is the Chairman of the Wellingore Parish Council where the John Magee Memorial Statue will be situated.
